The ambitious development project known as The Line, situated in northwestern Saudi Arabia, has recently showcased significant progress in its foundation work. Revealed at the prestigious property fair MIPIM, the video footage shared by The Line’s chief operating officer Giles Pendleton offers a glimpse into the ongoing construction efforts within the mega city.

Unveiling the Construction Milestones

The video titled “February Progress Report” captures the extensive groundwork underway at The Line site. From site clearance to the preparation of foundations and piling operations, the footage showcases the meticulous efforts dedicated to laying the groundwork for this monumental city. Spanning 170 kilometers across the Saudi Arabian landscape, The Line is poised to redefine urban living on an unprecedented scale.

Focus on the First Phase

The construction activity depicted in the video appears to be concentrated on the initial phase of development. Particularly in the area where The Line intersects with the Red Sea, encompassing the Hidden Marina. This phase, slated for completion by 2030 according to Neom, marks a significant milestone in the realization of this project.

Conceptualizing the Cityscape

At the heart of The Line’s vision lies a pair of parallel skyscrapers soaring to a height of 500m each. Conceived by renowned US studio Morphosis, the city’s design reflects a paradigm shift in urban planning.
