International Design Competition for the recovery and enhancement of Piazza Cairoli in Velletri, Italy

Velletri announced an international design competition for the recovery and enhancement of Piazza Cairoli. Moreover, the competition is carried out by the Municipality of Velletri in collaboration with the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Designers, and Conservation experts of the city and province of Rome.

Additionally, the new design of the square aims to give quality to the urban space. Also through the enhancement of the historical heritage, redefine the mobility system, urban greenery, and furnishings, and pursue objectives of environmental quality and sustainable reuse.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

• Urban space quality and enhancement of the historical heritage
• Mobility system
• Environmental quality, reuse, sustainability, urban greenery, and furniture
• Design quality and costs optimization

REWARDS AND REFUNDS:
– 1° place: 8.921,51 euro, to cover the costs incurred for the processing of the technical-economic feasibility project. Moreover, the winner, providing the fulfillment of the requirements, may be in charge of the schematic design phase development and construction supervision.
– 2° and 3° place reimbursement of expenses: 1.500 euros each.

• Deadline for receipt of requests for clarification – 15.12.2022
• Deadline for receipt of project proposals – 19.01.2023
• Announcement of the winner – 09.02.2023
