Twin Bungalows International Architecture Competition

Home » Competitions » Twin Bungalows International Architecture Competition

The Twin Bungalows competition invites architects and design enthusiasts to create a unique architectural solution that harmonizes with the natural environment while providing modern, luxurious living spaces. This competition centers around the concept of Polynesian-style stilt houses, presenting a new paradigm in eco-friendly tourism accommodation.

Design Brief

Participants are tasked with conceptualizing a prototype of a double floating home designed to function as tourist accommodation villas. These bungalows must be supported on stilts within a lagoon, allowing them to coexist peacefully with their aquatic surroundings. The design should emphasize sustainability, showcasing how modern luxury can blend with environmental consciousness. The proposal may consist of a series of 10 double units, enhancing the area’s natural beauty while providing a unique living experience.

Moreover, while the floating bungalows will serve as independent elements, they can also be integrated into a broader land-based complex that complements the services offered to guests. However, these land services are not to be projected in the proposals.

Prizes

The competition offers a variety of awards to recognize outstanding designs:

  • 1st Prize: USD 4,000, along with the opportunity for exhibition and dissemination in prominent architecture platforms worldwide. Additionally, the winner will be featured in a virtual booklet showcasing the best proposals from the competition.
