Bene introduces “bFRIENDS” desk accessories designed by Pearson Lloyd and produced by eco-start-up Batch. It’s a 3D-printed circular-production accessories line made from recycled post-consumer bioplastic. It combines practicality with a cute organic aesthetic.

The name bFRIENDS, Bene explains, “alludes in many ways to the eco-friendly nature of the objects, warmth of their aesthetic. And the spirit of collaboration in which they were created.” It is both logical and desirable.

This collection of minimalistic components creatively consists of 21 eye-catching items. Like trays, stationery stands, pen pots, holders, clips, and hooks, transforms one’s desk into a useful workspace.

Along with 10 standard colors that are soothingly attractive and carefully picked to convey an approachable as well as a tactile appeal that matches the organic curves, custom colors are also available on request.

This unique collection of odd items was brilliantly 3D printed using recycled PLA from Reflow. A bioplastic made from cornstarch and kept out of the trash.

When an object reaches the end of its useful life, it is simple to send it back to Bene for recycling once more, smoothly completing a closed-loop production cycle.

It skillfully leaves tactile horizontal ridging on the vertical surfaces as a result of its layer-by-layer printing method.

Pearson Lloyd was convinced that this needed to be a crucial design element and chose to highlight the ridges as each layer was created by using a wider nozzle on the printer.

Additionally, the products became stronger and more resilient as a result, easily prolonging their lifespan.

The use of 3D printing in the creation of bFRIENDS, according to Bene, “represents a highly significant step towards a truly circular and sustainable form of production.”
