Architecture Competition: Chalupkova Bratislava Architecture & Urban Design Competition

Situated between the Danube River and Old Town, in the heart of Bratislava’s growing center, the 3-hectare development site is one of the city’s most desirable locations.

Large industrial centers have historically dominated this zone. Owing to its economic significance, the city was the target of the first airstrike of World War II. Consequently, the region was left mostly deserted, and eventually the manufacturers shut down.

With a strong focus on the environment, we want to revitalize this long-neglected neighborhood by adding world-class architecture, prestigious residential and commercial buildings, and excellent public areas with lush landscaping.

Penta Real Estate previously completed the successful SKY PARK by Zaha Hadid project in the Chalupkova growth zone. This project included the renovation of the Jurkovič Heating Plant, a national cultural monument.

Moreover, A maximum of three teams or ideas will be chosen by the judges to advance to the second stage, which acts as an open pre-qualification, where contestants will be required to draft and present a more detailed plan.

Prize: Chalupkova Bratislava Architecture & Urban Design Competition

After submitting all necessary paperwork and presenting their ideas, along with any follow-up Q&A, each chosen participant from the open pre-qualification stage who moves on to the second round will receive €30,000 (VAT excluded).
