URBAN FOREST PAVILION is an international ideas competition for a low-impact structure that supports rest, shade, reflection or community activity within an urban forest. Entrants choose their own site and must respond to its topography, vegetation and environmental conditions.

The prize structure is conditional: the organizer says final cash amounts depend on the number of registrations and may be adjusted if a target is not reached. The named experts page is not a competition-specific jury assignment, so individual jurors for this call should be treated as undisclosed.

Recognition and rights

The organizer lists three winners, five honourable mentions, one special mention and thirty shortlisted entries. Benefits include publication, certificates and, for top winners, a jury report and interview. Cash amounts are not fixed on the call page. No construction commission or implementation commitment is stated.

The short competition brief does not reproduce full copyright and publication clauses; participants should read the platform terms before paying. Because the competition uses a self-selected site, entrants should also secure permission for any third-party site imagery used in the boards.

✦ ArchUp Competition Review

The brief is accessible and gives entrants freedom to test small-scale architecture against real vegetation, topography and use. The required site evidence and environmental criteria can discourage a purely generic object if applied seriously.

The commercial structure warrants caution: fees rise across many tiers, cash rewards are contingent on entry volume, and the call does not assign named jurors. The opportunity is best assessed as a portfolio-focused ideas exercise rather than a route to confirmed construction or a guaranteed prize amount.
