URBAN RIVER RECLAMATION PARK is an international landscape and urban-design ideas competition focused on turning a neglected urban river into a resilient public park. The hypothetical 1–2 km river reach is intended to test ecological restoration, flood adaptation, access and civic use together.

The site is hypothetical and no construction client or implementation commitment is stated. Cash prize amounts are conditional on the number of entries, and the call does not name a competition-specific jury.

Recognition and rights

The organizer lists three winners, five honourable mentions, one special mention and thirty shortlisted entries. Publication and certificates are included; cash amounts may be adjusted if the registration target is not reached. The call does not promise construction, commissioning or site access.

The short brief does not reproduce complete copyright and publication clauses. Participants should check platform terms before paying and ensure any maps, aerials or third-party site imagery in their boards are licensed.

✦ ArchUp Competition Review

The brief combines hydrology, public access and urban life, which can support a more substantial proposal than a decorative waterfront scheme. A credible entry should show flood states, maintenance logic, ecological succession and the relationship between movement routes and habitat.

The hypothetical context also limits verification: pollution, informal settlement and infrastructure barriers cannot be solved responsibly through generic assumptions. Entrants should declare their scenario and evidence boundaries clearly. Conditional rewards and the unnamed jury remain material participation considerations.
