MVRDV’s brilliant design for EDGE Technologies – The name of the modern, eye-catching structure “Valley” in Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district comes from the terraced valley between its three mixed-use towers and open to the public.
Additionally, this 75,000m2 biophilic mixed-use building, which perfectly satisfies its sustainability goals, contains apartments, offices, stores, and cultural institutions. In addition to a creative center and a beautiful park that was expertly designed by world-famous architect Piet Oudolf.

At the center of it all, Valley has a bustling atrium where everyone may come together in peace to mingle and socialize.
It adds much-needed eye-catching greenery to the neighborhood with its spectacular design and setting. It includes rocky stone terraces, bay windows, and balconies covered in lush flora and vegetation.
The resultant volume reads as a single unit since the residential volumes are on top of the multifunctional plinth and pushed to the very edge of the envelope.
Moreover, the design honors its business background and creates a visual connection with its near neighbors by adding reflecting the corporate surroundings through its reflecting geometric glass outside the façade.
Furthermore, the corporate vs the domestic contrasts are beautifully contrasted. Expressing the duality of the resulting volume, which resembles a carved-out block.
Finally, according to MVRDV, the design aesthetic for Valley attempts to accentuate the difference between the corporate past and the Zuidas’ more residential future.
