Designer Dot, a Korean design studio, has created a skateboard-inspired speaker named Punk.

Designer Dot drew influence from the shape and design of a skateboard whenever feasible. Punk comes with a little fingerboard with a conventional interface that regulates volume, changes songs, and connects via Bluetooth. In addition to the speaker’s wider body, which resembles the design of a skateboard.

The concept, which is conceptualized in both green and red tones, is meant to stimulate fun interaction with the device by providing a concave area atop the speaker for the user to play with the removable fingerboard.

Users can use the removable fingerboard as a fidget toy when they aren’t listening to music.

To protect the speaker’s internal machinery, this surface is somewhat above the main body.

It contributes to a greater visual of the skateboard inspiration by providing a ramp to slide back and forth on.

Meanwhile, the rest of the design includes standard elements like speaker cloth draped over the exterior walls and integrated control buttons that let people operate Punk however they choose.

The world of public speaking is evolving.

Consider major brands like Bang & Olufsen or Sonos, which are influencing new designers like Designer Dot and mechanical engineer Lidia Gómez, whose Dot Cone concept we featured last week.

While scarcely discernible minimalist designs are still popular, we’re seeing an increase in the number of speakers with inventive designs that allow them to function as home furniture or design statements.
