Architecture Festival Zürich 2026: Materials, Cinema and the Built Environment

November 4 - November 8

Architecture Festival Zürich 2026 official Materials poster, 4–8 November, Kino Koni in Zürich

The second Architecture Festival Zürich runs 4–8 November 2026 at Kino Koni Cinema & Lounge, Lagerstrasse 104, Zürich. The five-day programme explores architecture through film screenings, discussions, exhibitions, performances and workshops.

The 2026 theme is Materials, including natural and circular building resources, emerging technology and the social and environmental dimensions of the built environment. The film VEINS follows 30,000 tonnes of marble from Portugal to the façade of a new arts centre in New York. Mountain Time: Alpine Architecture in Ten Stories documents ten projects and territories across the Italian Alps.

On 7–8 November, the ARCH Market brings together architects, designers, artists, publishers and researchers for presentations and workshops. Market admission is free; other activities have separate admission arrangements. See the official programme for film schedules and tickets.

ArchUp Perspective

By tracing the movement and transformation of materials, the festival connects architectural details with labour, supply chains and ecological consequences. Its films and public market offer architects, interior designers and construction professionals a setting to examine material choices beyond the showroom.
