Home » Competitions » MUSE Creative Awards 2026 — Season 2

Competition Brief

The MUSE Creative Awards is an annual international advertising and creative communications competition organized by International Awards Associate (IAA), the same group behind French Design Awards, French Fashion Awards, TITAN Property Awards, NY Architectural Design Awards, and 30 other parallel programs across design, business, photography, and entertainment. MUSE is the flagship program in the IAA portfolio and focuses specifically on advertising, marketing campaigns, branded content, digital media, social media, video, experiential design, and brand communications.

The 2026 Season 2 edition is currently open. The Early Bird deadline is 14 May 2026. Past participating brands include Disney, NBCUniversal, AUDI, McDonald’s, Amazon MGM Studios, Sony, Adobe, Spotify, Unilever, Porsche, FX, Red Bull, Mastercard, NFL, Adidas, KFC, Tommy Hilfiger, Uber Eats, Warner Bros, and YouTube, reflecting a participation base that includes both global corporations and independent creative agencies.

Intent

MUSE positions itself as a recognition platform where creative ideas shape brands, create real impact, and define the future of creativity. Unlike design or architecture competitions, MUSE is focused on the output of advertising agencies, brand communication teams, production companies, and independent creators — specifically the campaigns, videos, social media strategies, digital experiences, and branded content they produce for clients.

The awards are structured to serve agencies and brands as a business development and brand positioning tool: winning work is framed as evidence of strategic thinking and execution capability for use in client pitches, press releases, and competitive market positioning.

Purpose

The primary stated benefits of winning MUSE are not cash prizes but business credibility tools: strengthening agency positioning in pitches, building client trust, supporting business growth, gaining international exposure, and demonstrating campaign effectiveness. Winners receive tiered recognition materials. Top Agency winners receive a complimentary MUSE Statuette; Platinum winners may purchase one. A Top 10 MUSE Agencies of the Year ranking accumulates points throughout the year (Platinum: 50 points, Gold: 25 points, Silver: 10 points).

The awards include a dedicated Pro Bono category for work produced for nonprofits, social initiatives, and purpose-driven causes, available at no additional cost to participants who submit at least one paid entry (up to 3 pro bono entries per participant).

Requirements

Open to agencies, brands, production companies, and independent creators from all countries. Work must have been produced after 1 January 2024. Entries are submitted online with a project synopsis of approximately 350 words. Images must be JPEG or JPG, under 4MB, 1,200px wide preferred, 300dpi, RGB. Videos and audio submitted via URL from Vimeo, YouTube, or Youku. Translation required for non-English entries. Entries may be submitted as Single works or Campaigns (higher fee applies). Multiple entries from the same organization accumulate toward the Top Agency of the Year ranking.

Jury

Judging is conducted blindly — all entrant information is removed before evaluation. Judges are an international panel from leading agencies, brands, and creative organizations. Featured 2026 jury members include:

  1. Graeme Hall — Founder and Creative Director, ifour creative agency, United Kingdom.
  2. Shahen Markarian — Creative Director, SugaringNYC, United States.
  3. Michael J. Russo — Chief Creative Officer, brandRUSSO, United States.

The full jury panel is accessible on the MUSE Awards Grand Jury Panel page. Jury members may be nominated publicly through the Nominate Jury function on the website. Each submission is assessed on: Strategic Thinking, Creativity and Originality, Execution and Craft, Effectiveness and Results, and Overall Impact.

✦ ArchUp Competition Review

The MUSE Creative Awards is organized by IAA, the same commercial multi-program group behind the French Design Awards, French Fashion Awards, and other programs reviewed previously on ArchUp. MUSE is IAA’s flagship and largest program in terms of participation volume, with a documented winners archive including major global brands: Disney, NBCUniversal, AUDI, McDonald’s, Porsche, Adobe, Sony, Unilever, and many others. This caliber of brand participation is the platform’s most significant credibility indicator — it is atypical for commercial recognition platforms to attract consistent participation from Fortune 500 brands unless the platform delivers genuine business value. Unlike the French Design or French Fashion Awards, MUSE is squarely in the advertising and creative communications sector rather than architecture or spatial design. Its direct relevance to ArchUp’s audience is limited to firms that produce architectural marketing communications, experiential brand design, or spatial brand experiences — all of which fall under MUSE’s Experiential and Immersive and Event categories. For creative agencies with an architectural or spatial dimension to their brand work, these categories are applicable. The fee structure is transparent: $130 early-bird for a single professional entry plus the $30 annual administrative fee makes the effective entry cost $160 for the first single entry — competitive relative to the caliber of brands participating. The blind judging process and the five-criteria evaluation framework (Strategic Thinking, Creativity, Execution, Effectiveness, Results) are results-oriented in a way that explicitly rewards campaign impact over aesthetic quality alone, which is appropriate for an advertising award but different from architectural competition evaluation frameworks. The Pro Bono category offering free entry for nonprofit work is a meaningful structural inclusion that gives purpose-driven creative agencies an accessible participation pathway. Results are announced 16 October 2026.

Final Thoughts

The MUSE Creative Awards has limited direct relevance to architectural and spatial design practice as defined by ArchUp’s editorial focus. It is an advertising and brand communications award, not an architecture, interior design, or urban design award. It is reviewed here as part of the IAA family of programs that includes programs directly relevant to ArchUp’s audience.

For creative agencies, marketing teams, and brand communication studios working in or adjacent to the built environment — particularly those producing experiential brand installations, architectural marketing films, spatial brand experiences, or exhibition design — the Experiential and Immersive and Event categories are directly applicable. The Early Bird deadline of 14 May 2026 is the current active deadline.
