The contemporary, cutting-edge, and globally unique Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya was officially opened by Saudi Arabia.
They stated that the stadium will be constructed on one of Mount Tuwaiq’s 200-meter summits in the center of the city, some 40 minutes from Riyadh.
They went on, “The stadium, which combines an openable roof, stadium, and LED wall, is expected to be the first completely integrated venue in the world. It was designed by renowned international architecture firm Populous. It is an architectural marvel that exhibits unmatched adaptability and makes the room change to accommodate different activities in a couple of minutes.
They went on to say that one of the amazing features of the new stadium will be its cutting-edge climate control system, which will enable competitions and events to take place all year round without using a lot of energy. This will be achieved by building an environmentally friendly cooling lake directly beneath the stadium, which will collect rainwater from the surrounding area and turn it into a wall of ice, cooling the air that enters the stadium’s central air conditioning system while also meeting LEED Gold standards for sustainable design.
The Qiddiya urban plan and global brand were introduced in December of last year by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qiddiya Investment Company.
