Competition Brief
The Bamboo U Design Contest 2026, which architects through designers and engineers to artists and students, provides an international design and construction challenge. The participants need to create a durable bamboo housing model that meets both the budget requirement of $10,000 USD and the space limitation of 80 square meters for their project in Bali, Indonesia.
This competition uniquely combines conceptual design with practical implementation. The entire design will be built to its complete size during the period of an 11-day design and construction training program. Requirements
