Competition Brief

Rights and Refunds

The refund policy normally excludes participant cancellations. Its organiser-error provisions mention both coupons and a full refund, creating uncertainty about the remedy. The useful architectural question is how a working shop can welcome a neighbourhood without exposing visitors to hazards. A convincing proposal should separate dust-producing work from conversation, accommodate supervised tool access, and show how deliveries and storage operate when a class is underway. An attractive open facade alone cannot resolve those conflicts.
The fee buys entry into an assessment process whose named decision-makers are still unclear. Numerical criteria help entrants allocate attention, but they do not establish the jury’s competence or independence. Likewise, a certificate and an interview have different value from remuneration or a building contract. Participants should evaluate the exercise as portfolio development, with a time budget that remains worthwhile even without selection.
